Add One Year More To Your Life

So here's the deal:

According to the legend, a moose milks only once a year and since this milk is very special, you shall add one more year to your life when you drink it.

Say what? Yes, moose milk.

When my brother in-law went on holiday, he met a bunch of Canadian military men who have told the story. Apparently drinking moose milk is a Canadian new year's tradition. Canadian's please correct me if I got the tale wrong.

Since moose's milk is not readily available where we live, he had concocted his own recipe and offered us just in time for the new year so that we may all add a year more to our life. I'd say cheers to that!

What new year's tradition do you have where you are? I would be interested to know.

Until then.

Lots of love,

Jo

  1. I'm in the U.S. but we still carry on our Hispanic tradiitons. Every New Year my grandmother would tell us to buy a new broom and sweep from the back of the house to the front. Sort of like out with the old and in with the new. We also had to eat 12 grapes at midnight to have good luck throughout hte year.

I've never had moose milk but hey if it gives me a year why not right? Thanks for sharing!

    1. Yeah I've heard about the grapes from my Spanish friends but not about the broom. It's nice to know traditions other cultures practice. Thanks for sharing Corina :-)

  2. So what did it taste like?? It looks thick like cream.

I don't know if it's a tradition for the whole UK but just after midnight we open the front door and the back door to let in the "new air"
