Prêt-à-Portea

Before I went to work in London, I have always wanted to have the Fashionista Afternoon Tea at the Berkeley Hotel.

I have heard so many good things about it and the pictures already speak for it. So I promised myself that when I go to London, I had to experience it.

Right after graduation from Uni, my friend and myself booked us a table at the Berkeley. It was really tough to get a spot as they were already fully booked months in advance. But once you get your date, the wait is truly worth it.

Prêt-à-Portea is a modern twist of the English traditional afternoon tea. Instead, you get cakes and pastries that reflect the current catwalk trend. The menu is changed every six months following the latest styles in fashion.

The Fashionista Afternoon Tea is a bit pricey at 45GBP plus 12% discretionary service charge but unlike any other Afternoon Teas, you get replenished to your heart’s content and you get a goodie bag afterwards so you can still enjoy the treat back at home. They have a wide selection of loose leaf and herbal tea and an option to have champagne instead. My friend doesn’t drink tea so she had hot chocolate instead. So there are other options for those who aren’t fond of tea.

The experience is unique and très chic and is truly an afternoon of pure luxury.  I highly recommend you to try it if you are celebrating something special or just want to try something new.

My goodie bag!

Do you like afternoon teas?

Lots of love,

Jo xoxo

    1. Hi Vivi, it was the same for me. I didn't want to eat them as they were too adorable. But they replenished everything so we had more. The handbag had cake in it. I'm glad you like the post. How are you?
