For my birthday in January, I got some gift vouchers from
work. When I decided to use them, this is the first thing I saw on the shop. My
eyes were set on it and so did it came home safely with me.
I have heard a lot of good reviews about the GuerlainMeteorites Perles from various YouTubers and I have already been eyeing this
for years. But due to its price tag, getting it was never a priority. However,
when I was in the shop and saw that this was on sale at half the price, I
didn’t have to think twice and snatched it right away. Also, with my voucher, I
didn’t have to spend a penny.
The Guerlain Meteorites Perles is on the pricier side and
retails at 48.40 Euro. I was lucky it was on 50% sale and had my gift voucher
so I didn’t have to pay for it.
This powder can be used as a highlighter or used as face
powder. It claims to reflect light invisible to the naked eye but creates
endless glow on the skin. It contains a mix of multi-colored pearls such as
yellow to counter redness, pink for freshness, and mauve to catch the light.
I have the shade 3 in medium. It is best to apply this
powder by swirling your face brush around the pearls and swipe it through the
area of your face where you want it. Remember to tap off the excess of the
brush before applying powder on the face.
I find that the powder is finely milled. However, what
bothers me the most is that it contains chunky glitters, which scared the heck
out me. I certainly do not want to walk around with chunks of glitter on my
face. This is why you have to tap off the brush before applying so that the
glitters will fall off and not get packed on your face. However, it is because
of those glitters that the light could reflect on giving you endless glow.
Guerlain Meteorites Perles is a luxurious product and if you
are a makeup addict like me, this would look really pretty in your collection.
Would I repurchase? Probably not. There are better
highlighters in the market that I would prefer. And knowing me, I am always on
the hunt for something new to try.
On to you, have you used the Guerlain Meteorites Perles? Did you like
it? If not, which highlighter are you using at the moment? Let us know.
Lot of love,
Jo xoxo

This is such a pretty product! I was always intrigued by the concept of these powder-like pearls :)
ReplyDeleteCurrently, I'm mainly using the KIKO Radiant Touch Creamy Stick Highlighter in Rose and I'm quite liking it although it can sometimes be a bit hard to blend ^_^

This highlighter looks very interesting and it's great that it was on sale, because if it didn't amazed you, it would be sorry to spend on it almost 50 euros :)

Your photography in this post is absolutely stunning! It literally makes me want to buy the product. The big glitters would have scared me off as well though! Great post Jo!

The one reason why I've not purchased this is that it's not quite travel friendly and well, the bloody price. Okay, that's two reasons. LOL! But I think they now came out with a compact version of this that I am dying to get my hands on!

I haven't used these yet, but would love to. My go-to highlighter at the moment is MAC Beauty Powder in "Shell Pearl"

ReplyDeleteSadly I have never tried any products from Guerlain. I know they are popular for their highlighters I just can't justify paying their price when like you said there are plenty of other options out there.

Nice review :)

I have been wanting to try this out for a really long time! Too bad it is so expensive and I never had the chance to, but thankfully you tried it and I get to read such a detailed and fantastic review! Thanks so much for the honesty: I agree that sparkles are always a huge turn off, especially LARGE sparkles. Do you find the shimmer/sparkles bearable after tapping the excess off, or does it still look unnatural? Can't wait to hear from you~
