My First Impression On Maybelline Baby Lips | Treasure Tuesday

I know I maybe way too late on the Maybelline Baby Lips bandwagon, but my Nivea Lip Balm was finished (as featured in my What's In My Makeup Bag) and I couldn't live a day without a lip balm, so I had to pick up a replacement.

What’s In My Makeup Bag | Treasure Tuesday

Although I don’t really touch up my makeup during the day, I just carry around some stuff just incase I might need them.

If you are like me, always wondering what people have on their makeup bag, then here’s the big reveal!

The bag is by Mango which I bought in the sale. I chose it because of the material. It is lightweight and needs less maintenance. It also doesn't get dirty very quickly. I tend to think about these things before purchasing anything.

On to the contents:

EcoTools Kabuki Brush - I use to apply my blush
Chanel Kabuki Brush - I use to apply my powder
Mac Studio Fix Powder - to mattify my face
Hema Eyebrow Pencil - for when I need to touch up and fill my brows
Nivea Lip Balm - to keep my lips smooth. I use this under lipstick or gloss
Maybelline 10H Superstay Tint Gloss in Forever  Fuchsia - for a natural flushed lips, this is my pick at the moment
Rimmel Lasting Finish Soft Color Blush in Santa Rose - I use this for a rosy cheek touch up
L'Occitane En Provence Hand Cream in Rose Tenderness - to keep my hands smooth and smell like roses!
Rimmel Lasting Finish By Kate Lipstick in Rossetto - to me this is the perfect nude,  a true my lips but better shade
Travalo - my handy spritzer for my favorite perfume on the go

The contents change every now and then, depending on my mood.

On to you, what essentials do you keep in your makeup bag?

Let us know.
Lots of love,

Jo xoxo

Treasure Tuesday: Giniling A Filipino Recipe

In yesterday’s Menu Monday, I have included a dish that is very traditional from my homeland, the Philippines.

It is called Giniling. I grew up eating this and it’s one of my favorites and it will be my entry for this week's Treasure Tuesday. It is mainly made of minced meat with diced vegetables. We eat this together with boiled rice as we do with everything. I will show you how I did it just like how I learned it at home from my mom.

In this recipe I used the following:

500 grams minced pork and beef (50-50)
1 onion, chopped
2 potatoes, diced
2 carrots, diced,
2 cloves garlic, ground
1 red bell pepper, sliced in proportion with the other ingredients
frozen peas, amount depending to how much you like
ground pepper to taste
fish sauce to taste

After all ingredients were prepared: washed, unpacked, sliced and chopped, I heated the pan with a bit of vegetable oil.
Then I sautéed the onion and the garlic until translucent and added the meat.
Stirring well so that all the meat will be covered in heat.
I then added some fish sauce to integrate the taste to the meat.

When the meat is half cooked, I added the vegetables and a cup of water.
I covered the pan with the lid and let it simmer until the vegetables and the meat are cooked and tender.

I then add a generous grinding of black pepper to taste and added a few more drizzle of fish sauce to make sure the taste is perfect.

When done, I served with rice and craving is fulfilled!

I hope this recipe has given you a bit of insight on how our food is like back home.

How about you, which traditional dish from your country are you fond of and would recommend?

Let me know.

Lots of love,
Jo xoxo

Every Tuesday, I am planning to post some tips I picked up along the way and share them with you. What do you think about calling the segment “Treasure Tuesday”? Since tips I believe are as valuable as gold, I find it fitting to call them my treasures.

Sophie Kinsella is my very first favorite author. I fell in love with her work after I have read The Undomestic Goddess. Since then, I have read all her stand alone novels and some of the Shopaholic Series. When I saw this latest edition to her stand alone’s, I immediately downloaded my own copy.
