You may not know but I love Lebanese food.
From eating at my favorite Lebanese Restaurant in London, I have discovered my love for Hummus. Since then, I have searched the web for the perfect recipe. After reading tons of them, I have finally perfected my own. I made this on my birthday and was complimented for it.
So for this week's Savory Saturday, I would like to share with you my very own version.
Should you like to recreate this, you will need the following:
Chickpeas
Tahini
Lemon
Olive Oil
Lemon
Garlic
Paprika Powder
Salt
Pepper
First, I rinsed the chickpeas and put it in a food processor together with 2 tablespoons of Tahini, and the rest of the ingredients except for paprika powder.
I just eyeballed the ingredients and whisked them until the hummus is soft and creamy which is my perfect consistency. I added salt gradually until it tasted the way i liked it.
When serving, I drizzled olive oil on top and sprinkled with paprika powder to garnish. It's as simple as that. Anyone can make this. It's great for entertaining, or simply for self indulgence.I served it with slices of baguette. It is also best served as a dipping sauce for chips, naan bread amongst others.
Hummus is rich is in iron and vitamin C and B6. It is a good source of protein and dietary fiber. It is not just tasty, it's good for you!
Do you like Hummus? Have you made one before?
Should you like to recreate this, please let me know or tag me on twitter or facebook. I would love to see your creations! Until then.
Lots of love,
Jo xoxo
Hummus is hands down the best thing since sliced bread!
