I was alone last year on Valentine's but that did not stop me from carrying on with my life.
I was working in London last year and lived there on my own while my husband stayed in Holland. Yes that used to be our situation but now I am back at home.
On Valentine's Day, I too had to survive the "day" on my own. I guess it wasn't too bad for me as my husband and myself never really celebrated Valentine's. But when I was London and alone, I couldn't help but miss having the company.
I am dedicating this post to all the singles out there and to name a few things that could help to survive this day which is heavily marketed towards couples only.
1. Reconnect with family.
What better way to reconnect with families. Use this day to call your parents or give them a visit. If you are still living with your parents, how about visiting your grandparents. I'm sure your visit will be more than welcome. In this case it will be you giving the love and making others happy.
2. Keep yourself busy.
Do you have a hobby? Use this day to keep yourself busy and do the things that you love. This is yourself giving love to yourself.
Or, perhaps you can use this day to give back to charity. Offer your time to your favorite charity. I am sure this will be well appreciated and the smiles you get in return from those you have helped will be rewarding enough.
3. Organize and throw a party.
What better way to not feel alone than to have company. Why not gather all your singles friends and have a party? Who says you need to have a boyfriend or girlfriend to have fun?
I hope these tips would help those who haven't planned anything yet for V-Day. If there are any tips you would like to share, lets us all know in the comments section below.
How about you? What are your plans on Valentine's?
See you tomorrow.
Love,
Jo xoxo
I love this! I and many others are alone on Valentine's day this year, but that does not mean we can't have day filled with fun and happiness!!! Have a wonderful day!
