Hello my lovelies! Today I’d like to write about breakfast.
I used to skip breakfast and I thought this was a good way to not gain weight.
One day, I realized that each time I skip breakfast and only
have my first food intake at lunch time, that I would have been running my body
low for at least 18 hours. I was like running a car with no petrol.
So I decided to change. Slowly I have discovered some food
that I’d like to eat in the morning. In the beginning it was difficult to chomp
especially at 6 a.m. Yes, my day starts very early and I don’t have a lot of
time to sit and chew. So my breakfast will have to be both appetizing and
speedy.
First I ate sandwiches, which mostly were made of ham and
cheese, peanut butter, or with jam. I prefer my bread toasted. Later I moved to
cereals. The problem with cereals
is that I don’t drink milk. My friend actually told me that it’s okay to eat
Choco Pops with milk. It would be like drinking chocolate milk! I tried this et
voila. This is the only cereal I could possible eat – and nothing else.
These days, I eat granola with dark chocolate, with two or
three dollops of Greek yogurt, half of a banana, and a drizzle of honey. This
breakfast always makes me think I am eating healthy. Why not all my ingredients
are super foods.
On Sundays and I mean ever single Sunday – no joke, except
when we are not at home, my husband spoils me with scrambled eggs. This is my
favorite. Waking up in the morning and breakfast is served.
Breakfast in my motherland, the Philippines, is hearty and
that is what I miss a lot. It consists of rice (in whatever form you like -
boiled, or fried) and something savory. Maybe we can discuss this in another
post?
